Meet the First Ever GMC Hummer EV
After over a decade since discontinuation, General Motors revitalized their Hummer brand with the introduction of the world’s first all-electric super-truck- the Hummer EV. Boasting zero emissions and zero limits, four models will be available with various trim options and price points.
Excitement is at an all-time high as reservations for the Hummer EV Edition 1 filled up within just ten minutes. These first orders will officially be available in Fall 2021 and are the most expensive of the four choices. The edition 1 has a three electric motor system with a GM estimated 1,000 horsepower and a zero-to-60-mph time of three seconds. GM is also using their new Ultium battery-pack technology and approximates a 350-mile range per charge in addition to the DC fast charging capability which can add 100 miles within ten minutes.
Some other key selling points of the Hummer EV Edition 1 include GM’s Super Cruise driver-assistance system which allows for hands-free driving and automatic lane changing. The vehicle can be opened with GM’s industry-leading Infinity Roof with transparent panels that can be taken off and give passengers the open-air feel of a convertible. Additionally, the Hummer EV’s interior has a “Lunar Horizon” theme with “moon-inspired” touches and bronze features. There’s no lack of entertainment in this super-truck with a Bose 14-speaker audio system, a large 13.4-inch display, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability.
Finally, one of the most appealing features of this model is the crabwalk capability which uses four-wheel steering to drive diagonally. Combined with Adaptive Air Suspension, which automatically adjusts the ride height for different road conditions, and UltraVision- offering 18 available camera views and waterproof underbody cameras, the Hummer EV Edition 1 will be an immersive ride for off-roading enthusiasts. With reduced environmental impact, more convenience, and never before seen features, the GM Hummer EV is sure to give other EV models on the market a run for their money.
